Ashley Hodson and Megan Mclaughlin went on a road trip around the country exploring the wide world of sustainability. They've worked long and hard to bring you videos about everyday folks and their flavors of environmental responsibility!

I'm just catching up with all your postings. I can see you were worried in this one...hang in there. It's all so interesting....and there is always more you can do, or different ways to do it....and you're just learning all along the way.

I think you two are doing great - and I think you should keep in mind that all the footage you aren't able to put up now can be posted later. I would love to see all the "bonus footage" after your trip comes to an end.

it's good to see your faces again :-) I miss you, and I'm glad you are experiencing everything rather than force-posting, if there's only time for one. We can wait. do what you gotta do! learn as you go. you guys rule.

This is piece is better to me than some of your others because I get a real sense of what it is like where you are.

The rock: GOOD! Hug the rock--GOOD! Ask why is it there--GOOD! Why IS it there? I bet you would not have to knock on more that three of those doors in the background to find someone who knows and to find a "sustainable" connection in the story.

The flag: GOOD! Now you're catching up with the background. That flag was posted on a real estate office. Suppose anyone in that office is into sustainable real estate development? Even if they are not, that fact is part of the sustainable story I want to hear about. When I was out on Monhegan Island, Maine, I learned they had a sustainable development organization that is encouraging year-round residents by buying properties out from under wealthy summer-only visitors and selling them for 40-60% less than there value to anyone who will live on the island year-round.

The parking lot: The parking lot? Was that a solar panel on the building in the background? What's the story with that?

I bet there is a sustainability story where ever you are. Show me how that story looks, sounds, feels, tastes...

mistake is too strong a word.
I definitely know what its like being in the middle of situation, everything happening, and just getting caught up in the moment.

I guess the challenge of blogging is to remember you have an audience that is actually paying attention and has no idea all the cool things youre doing.
And getting people involved in the process can make a project even cooler.

anyway...sounds like you got the right idea. Build an extra day into each place you visit so you can post a video from that place. Maybe even see if you cant visit some of the places people have suggested: http://tinyurl.com/pouko
Anyone would be psyched to see this.

Keep having fun. we're digging it so far.

I don't see any of this as mistakes.

This was part of the commitment; to find out what does it take to do this kind of reporting. If you don't have a major corporation pumping money and resources then how do you do this type of reporting.
The project is coming along at its own speed.

Relax - you got the editing figured out. Keep it coming. I think this is great and long after you are off the road it will have lasting effects. This will be a part of the dialog on sustainability. If somebody ask me a question then one of the answer is "I know of this video project that..."

Courage.
